If I start blogging with a free account at name.wordpress.com , can I lateron transfer it to be hosted at my own domain? I'm sure there's a way to export the posts to import them into where the new WP theme is hosted? Or is there a faster way?
I dont think there is a way.. May be you can make a backup for wordpress database ( a plugin is available ) Why not copy paste
Do you have a link to this plugin? Copy and paste? there would be a lot of posts and they would all appear from the same date Anyway to hook my name.wordpress.com to mydomain.com ? (without forwarding because that's bad for seo )
Isn't there an export option at wordpress.com? I am not sure but i think i saw one, last time i was visiting wordpress.com
you should be able to eport your posts via the admin section, the import them via the admin section of your new blog...
What several ppl above have said and that is to use the Import function. Steps as follows: Login to the admin at Wordpress.com Click on Manage - Export. Save the file somewhere. Register your domain name Get webhosting space Install Wordpress in your new space. Login to the admin at your new blog. Click Manage - Import. All the instructions would be provided. That's it!
that's perfect...........in wordpress.com export the content to an xml file (it'll be done on clicking export button...)...in your disk and later import from that file in your host......(wordpress) Done.... But also you may make your new TLD domain like example.com to example.wordpress.com in admin panel->options->domains Details here http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=4766&replies=2
