    Hi all,

If I have www.domain.com and already have a sitemap submitted for that, can I submit a sitemap for www.domain.com/subdomain?

The reason I ask is I have 2 different websites running like the above. The sites are different languages of the same content. Both have index.html "home pages".

    Any help much appreciated.

You have to use different site maps for sub domains.

You can submit seperate sitemaps for different "sets of urls". It is not domain dependant.

I submit on xml.gz file for my main site and 3 seperate xml.gz files for my query string asp files. It has worked for me for the past 8 months.

    To All

Great new trick from ASK.com that Google allows. Use the robots.txt file for site map submission. Check my robots.txt file out www.catanich.com/robots.txt, it even shows up as "allowed" in my Webmaster account.

It appears that Google, Yahoo, MSN and ASK are supporting this. As of this date, it has been 7 week active and working.

This really will help everyone out.

If you are using a sub-directory (www.yourdomain.com/directory/) instead if sub-domain (http://directory.yourdomain.com), then you do not need another sitemap..
