Yeah you can, provided that it is your own work, but to be honest with you, my advice is not to do that, because you will not be listed on search engines that filter out duplicated content. For example if someone searches for your article on google, google will find the articles on different article directories, and will filter it out because its been dupilacted.
The article has to have a 33% uniqueness, try downloading SEnuke, search for it on google. it is great, it sends articles to all the article directories, and randomizes them so the uniqeness is always good enough to be listed on google or other search engines.
Its abit pricey, but you get a free trial, i just downloaded it and then quit the trial, and kept the program, no money envolved whatsoevor

    I hope i helped..

It is riskier to do so, better to change the content of the article and then post it in article directories.

I reccommend using an article / content rewriter as Google will only add duplicate content to its supplementary index, but if each article if a minimum 30 % unique then they will all get spidered in the main index and the backlinks will count.

I don't see the big problem to do it, but it would be good to make a minor changes to the content.

When submitting your articles to the article directories, a good practice is not to submit them to more than 5 directories,

In terms of how Google will deal with the duplicated content, this is an officail post from them, I believe you will have some interests in it:

The only real way to know is to test. Submit a small amount say 20 that is unchanged and submit 20 that has been modified. Then track the results. Everything else is someone elses word... with 100's of articles is it worth risking it?

definitely dont submit articles you have on your website to article directories, it can only hurt your rankings

re-write each article so that they are unique are different than the ones on your website and then submit them all to article directories

    Hi,

Dont submit like that, if you want to do it then just change the content (do some modifications and reaplce with other keywords) and submit it. If want a person to do that task pls contact me at - texasddc at gmail dot com

You can submit your article to many article directories. I'm using directorycritic to submit my article. It has a huge list of free article submission sites.

    Duplicate content is a myth.

Look at sites like about.com. They basically copy and paste stuff from wikipedia and other sites, yet they get great ratings.

yes you can, it's your copyright. I would re write these articles for you own site however or Google will penalise your site for duplicate content. I've written over 500 articles and the best article directory is http://www.ezinearticles.com

From SEO view, it is not good to submit the same content article more than one directory!!! Do one thing change the content with same idea!!!! There is a lot of content rewritable s/w available in the market!!! Better You do that also manually!!! You will get better result in the Search Engines!!!!!

Yes, I agree with you . Some successful marketers always try to change content a bit before submit to different directory / directory sites. It may take more time to work but they will get better result in longterm for sure.

Is it better to submit only a few articles at a time or all at once. I have about 50 articles I'd like to submit to quite a few article sites but I'm not sure if if there's any penalty for submitting so many in one go.
