Hello I am doing optimization for a dental website known as http://www.startsmiling.com, its nearly 13 year old website ,so with out submiting Sitemap my site got PR3 . But i made html sitemap in my site I want to increase PR , can i upload my sitemap.xml file in web master , it make any harm to my traffic and PR .By typing site:www.startsmiling.com , all my pages where indexed .So please guide me
Its its an old established site you probably do not need to add a site map in web master, but I doubt to will do any harm, but also it will probably not increase your PR. You need to add links from other (Good) sites and add new interesting content. PR3 is quite good for this type of site, might not be easy to get much higher? What does everyone else think
It will not affect your ranking as well as page rank.Sitemap is a latest technology to index pages faster in Google and other search engines. If your pages are already indexed then it will not harm you. Today for any site having a sitemap.xml file on server is must as per my point of view. Thanks Ganesh Freelance SEO
Yes i'm seeing sites with better links out ranking sites with lots of content and traffic at the moment.
Well, you can submit the site map of your site i.e. XML site map to the search engine and it is mandatory if your site is the dynamic one... while XTML site nap is for the users and visitors so that they can easily use your site...
You can submit a sitemap to google, yahoo and bing to increase your indexed page numbers but not your pagerank. It can affect your pagerank from different other factors but the main purpose is for site indexing. You can PM me if you need help submitting your sitemaps to search engines.
In case someone is wondering, Submit to Yahoo! : http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ Submit in Bing : http://www.bing.com/webmaster
Since all of your pages are already getting indexed by google, you don't need to worry about the sitemap at all.
Hello Cnjai20, don't worry for your site. What I suggest is just maintain a good neighborhood and that will work for you. It has a well established domain age and that is working for the site. you may submit a XML sitemap in Google webmaster central and surely that's not going to harm the site anyway.
Submitting your website XML site map with the help of Google webmasters tool account will improve your website visibility on main search engines specially Google, Yahoo and Bing.com.
I'm agree with all the above mentioned. You can also submit to Google map. One of the most site map submission.
