Lots of webmaster portals have BST (Buy Sell Trade) sections similar to the one on DigitalPoint where you can post your themes and hope to get some sales.
You can advertise your template design here or some others forum ,defiantly you will get positive response .Good luck
Themeforest is one of the best online marketplaces for themes anytime. Would really recommend you sell your template there.
you can sell on theme forest, or open a site like i did. Its a more hard way but the benefits in the end are bigger.
There are many sites where you can sell your templates. But I reccomend two give couple of them for free download first to see if there is good feedback. When they are good enough, people will buy them, but that must be something realy good not some templates that can be found on most free template sites. Hope I helped you
I don't want to discourage you, but I think selling templates is not that profitable because there are a lot of free templates. Just check in google here: http://www.google.com/search?q=free+website+templates If people can get something for free, why would they want to spend money from similar thing?
First of all try a marketplace or a designated site for a marketplace and if that fails, then get a sponsor for your template(s), and include the sponsor links in the footer of your templates. Failing that, set up your own website for it, and use advertisements such as google ads, or apply something like a Javascript payment gateway where a user has to complete a CPA offer, or use CPA Lead.
