Can I sell my blogger blog?

Discussion in 'Blogging' started by lktennis55, Jan 10, 2008.

Hey! I currently have a blogger blog, which is getting around 500-800 unique hits per day, and has a good amount of links in search engines. I have registered my own domain name with godaddy, and am forwarding it to the blog. My question is, am I allowed to sell my blog? What if I were to have it hosted with my own hosting company, and just use the blogger ftp? Thanks!

You can sell your privately owned domain, and give the new owner access to the blog, but you do not own, the blog itself, therefore cannot legally sell it....Blogger still has all rights to it since you are using their platform and hosting.

If you have your own hosting and domain, then of course you can sell it. You can do anything you want.

You can sell anything if there is a buyer!

It's against the Blogger TOS, but if you sell the domain and give the new owner access to the blog...it shouldn't be a big deal. Just keep it on the down low. Blogger may own the blog, but the content is yours.

I think you can sell. But don't post it to your blog and remove the navbar so that no body can flag it quickly. You have build that blog. So its your right. No body is coming to see it

Personally I would move to a new domain and migrate all your content.

Then put a simple forward on the old blogger site and route the traffic to the new domain. (If applicable0

I would not recommend floating the gray line. This is ultimately your choice but moving this system over to a new blog would not take much effort.

Content / User migration is pretty straight forward.
