Hi, I need to verify whether it's possible to sell domain names here in the digitalpoint forums (Normal forums and not the digitalpoint market place)? I know that I have to become a established member by receiving at least 3 likes if I need to post on market place. But obviously it might take some time so I would like to use the normal forum threads to post my domain offers. Is it violates the terms and condition or it's just fine? Thanks.
Definitely it violates the terms. You should become an establish member or buy premium membership to get access to market place
Hi, Thanks for the information... Seems it might take me little long to become a establish member start selling
It kind of defeats the purpose of having the marketplace if you sell in the discussion forums doesn't it? And even if we did, why would we have a lower standard for those sales than in the marketplace? I think, if you'd given it any thought at all, you could have answered your own question.
Obviously sarahk knows her DP stuff better than I do. And, I am not sure this applies for domains but, I am pretty sure I read Shawn say two things that are relevant to this discussion. First, is that there is a distinction between the Marketplace and the BST forum section. Second, that one does not even need to be an established member to post in the Marketplace. I can't tell if that is true or not since I have always been established. I will see if I can dig up the thread where I recall him saying this. My assumption is that it would not apply to a domain, but did apply to the other Marketplace sections like the ones for selling a script. It is actually still surprising to me that this would be the case, that non-established members can post stuff for sale, but that is why it sticks out in my mind. EDIT: Ahh, found it. The Digital Goods Marketplace is the area with different rules. And the reason I posted all this crap, was to correct this misperception: That is only accurate for some sections of the Marketplace.
