Hello. I'm new into the article selling business, so excuse me for my stupid question. I have written several articles which I would like to sell, but I don't want to run after customers. I decided to open up a website where to post the entire article and have a "Buy" button for each article. Users would be able to buy the article, and I would delete it from my site. Would this be ok? If it's not, what should I do, post only a sample of the article? Thanks for your inputs
If you post the articles and any of the search engines find it, it will be worth substantially less to buyers. Additionally, you run the risk of someone copying and pasting it without paying you for it. Excerpts or screenshots are a much better choice. You also might want to throw them up here on DP in the BST area but don't be disappointed if you don't get any takers on your first try. If you post them here for sale, definitely use a screen shot rather than posting the actual text; and don't fall for anyone asking for a preview to sample - tell them no money, no article. Good luck.
If you are good at writing articles, there are plenty of people who would pay you $5 and more on fiverr , elance and other gig websites or you can shoot higher and get into the freelance writer business
@YMC: thanks for the info. I tried to sell my services in the BST section but no luck so far. I have some articles written which I want to sell, but if I had no luck to sell my services (writing articles with whatever title they chose) then there's almost no chance that I would be able to sell my personal titles. @wanderingshrew: I haven't tried Fiverr or Elance before, but I'll give them a try as well. Thanks for the information guys!
Yes, it can be difficult to sell pre-made content practically anywhere...more so on DP. So, what I would suggest is take multiple options in your hand. If your content is of great quality, it will sell sooner or later. Try all of these at once: 1) Selling them on DP BST (niche wise). If you have several articles spanning across several different niches, you can consider grouping them up and selling them one niche at a time... 2) Put it up on your website and link that in every forum you visit. 3) Put it up on DailyArticles.com. Though there is slight chance that your article will sell over there, bur they are better off in the market place than at your desktop. Remember, each time you sell of an article elsewhere make sure you remove it from listings of DA. 4) I am sure there are other sites which buy pre-made content but I guess those sites usually pay far too less. Never put up an entire article on your site, better to put screenshots of the articles... Hope this helps.
Selling articles can be done through a number of freelancing sites that are available on the internet. Make a search over the internet using the keywords "freelance content writing jobs". You will come across a number of sites where you can register as a user and advertise your articles. You can provide a summary and mention the expected amount that you want from the buyer. If any user finds your samples interesting, they will get in touch with you and make an offer. While most of these sites offer paid service, some are free as well. Cheers John
Wow. I had no idea I could get so much information back. Thanks guys for all your input. I will look into some freelancing sites, and try DailyArticles. Also, in case I decide to put them up on my site, I'll use screenshots.
Have you checked out E-junkie? It's a site that does exactly what you are describing. The site is a marketplace that allows you to sell your articles, and even automates digital delivery of the article to the buyer.
I just googled E-Junkie now. It seems similar to PayLoadz, which I've used before to sell digital goods. I'm going to give it a try!
No this idea would only work if you gave a very small sample of the article with lots of words blanked out. This is to prevent the dupe content problem when google comes along and indexes it. You would be far better just advertising the fact you can write articles instead of writing some random ones in the hope someone will buy them.
I have an online store section on my website and I do just that. The website's currently being redesigned and moved over to a new server but you can check out the one I currently have by clicking on the link in my signature. I do get sales through the website but it is mainly through forums or directing people who look on other freelance sites to my online store. You'll find if you articles are good you will get repeat buyers but it's not as easy as it sounds. If you want to make it in the freelance business you should possibly do the store as a side service and focus on clients to ensure you have a regular income.
Please? It only works if you are willing to accept $5 for your article, having your own webpage is a much better idea if you can advertise it properly.
Netbuilders forum is a good marketplace, as well. You can avoid the duplicate content issue by posting samples as images (screenshots basically). I found that people pay real low prices on freelance sites - less than you'd get on DP! But maybe that's my experience....
oDesk is a great place to get writing work and most of the employers pay well. Never publish your content, it loses all value then. Selling pre-written content is a hard task, people generally know the style they want the articles written in and it wont normally be the style you write in.
I am also looking for good Article buyer. I can write good articles. My articles will be search engine friendly and fulfil all search engine's all requirements. If anyone interested, then he/she can contact me. I will provide article in time with quality content.
By far your best bet is to sell through Constant Content. I've been writing on there for some time and made quite a bit of money. Your article will need to be of the highest written standard to get past the editors though - ezine it is not.
You can definitely sell articles or rather, offer your writing services online. There are plenty of companies and individuals who are always looking for writers to come up with various articles, eBooks and press releases for them. I wouldn't post the articles on a website though. Why not put up a blog or website where you can have a sample of your work, along with information about how to get in touch with you, your areas of expertise and the like? You might also want to create profiles in freelancer.com, odesk.com. or elance.com. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
