Can I Sell a Single Product Using Paypal?

    Hi all,

I'm due to launch a website which offers article and ebook ghostwriting services. I also plan to have ready-made articles and ebooks with exclusive rights. Needless to say, an ebook / article will be sold only once. Does anybody know if I can do this with paypal?

Well, if you have a Personal Account, what you can do is just ask the person to send you the funds via paypal through the Email Send, all you need to do is to give him your paypal email address and the amount. Once he pays, you get notified and then you send him the articles and ebooks, whichever he bought.

If you have the Business/Premier account, you can always send him a Paypal Invoice.

    Hi Big Mike,

For the life of me, I cannot find the proper fields in paypal where I can limit the number of items.

    Eddy,

I have a Verified Premier account but I want the buyer to pay and be immediately redirected to the download page. Is that possible at all with paypal? Will it detect that once this product has been paid for and downloaded, then it shouldn't be sold again...or something like that...

Can anyone here please point me to the right direction?

    Thanks for the replies...

    JB

You cannot limit the number of items for sale. What you do is do not release the order link, have the person who wants to buy it contact you then you generate an email invoice from paypal and once you get paid, you remove the item from your website for sale.

Since it is only one item, you can work one on one with the party.

You do this in conjunction with the IPN - your online catalogue or product list will have a "Buy Now" button and the first successful payment will be redirected to the download page. It should also remove the product from the list once the IPN indicates a successful transaction.

I do something similar, although I have different set quantities in my catalogue. My membership script tracks the quantities and prevents the sale of more than what is specified for each product.

It's all based on the IPN from PayPal and a solid backend management script.

you can sell the product, once or more, deponds on you! also you can sell the same person more than one product!
paypal is easy to use, has limitation of varifications, but it provides good service:D
