I have seen in past that, there are some thread in which memebrs request for vote on other websites, i need some votes at facebook, i want to confirm that can i ask for vote at DP?
Allowed or Not - [Quick Reference] Stumbles / Diggs / Social Bookmarking / Social Networking Allowed: none Not allowed: No buying or selling of services; no exchanges; no freebies. (This also includes microblogging services like Twitter, Tumblr, Spoink, etc. or any other social network) No Twitter friend following, tweets, blasts, friend adding, bots, profile creation, etc. No Facebook announcements, fan pages, groups, etc. No Youtube comments, etc. No Xrumer or any other "blasting" services. No Myspace bulletins, announcements, etc. No Yahoo answers.
Thanks Jerlene. But, to be completely clear, do you mean it's not allowed even in a signature? It seems with signatures, Digital Point offers a great deal of leniency. If we check the rules in regards to signatures, Nothing in this section about linking to any social networking sites. In fact, It indicates how certain links that may be against the rules in a regular post, would be perfectly acceptable in a signature (affiliate). My take on the intentions of the Stumbles / Diggs / Social Bookmarking / Social Networking rules is that DP doesn't want threads started offering the buying and selling of these type of services, or starting threads to exchange likes, digs, stumbles, and so forth. Jerlene, I totally respect your opinion, you've been here much longer than I. However, I would still like to get further clarification on this policy. Just to be 100% sure, can a moderator answer, Facebook link allowed in signature?
Thank you Jerlene! I might even make a Facebook page as well, specifically intended for my DP signature... I appreciate your help, have a nice evening.
Personally I think you'd get away with posting it in general chat. You're a 4 + years old member and you're asking for people to help you with a vote you're trying to win. Many people have done similar appeals for votes or donations to things, and the rules that were posted in this thread are mainly to restrict buying those services, because that's cheating the system. Just my thoughts, not the actual rules..
