well as the title says, im tring to figure out if i buy a block of Ip's from one provider, and use them on a different server. is this possible? a host that im interested only offers 4 IP addresses for whatever reason. any help on this would be great , it would be a dedicated server box i would be getting.

You can "rent" them from your datacenter / provider for their cost. How about you submit a sales / support question with them rather than on here? Also, you have to justify using multiple IP addresses since there are a limited amount left. If you say "SEO", enjoy having your request declined.

No. IP addresses are assigned at the datacenter unless you pay the large amount of money to have IP addresses assigned to you, they have to be assigned at a datacenter and configured. There's no simple way to "rent" them. Are you with shared hosting?

You're not fooling me. I know that you are on shared webhosting thats why you are limited to 4 IP addresses. This isn't my first time. Step up and rent out a virtual private server. You can even get cPanel installed on it for yourself if you have lack of system administration skills or offer cPanel for your customers.

Oh I totally forgot about Server4You. I apologize. It's time to move to a better dedicated hosting provider? I would run your shared operation within a VM, then all your VPS servers. If your shared operation is compromised - it doesn't mean your whole system is compromised.
