Can i remove the unwanted files in public_html folder in hosting

Hello,

I am just wondering whether i can delete files in public_html and start uploading the new files for my site.

I logged into cpanel and found that there are already some files under public_html folder.

Please advice.

What your site shows from web browser before uploading files.

 

Good question. I havent checked that! I straight away uploaded my files(without deleting the already present files) and replaced the index php file.

So really dont know what was showing previously before uploading files.

you souldn't delete any file there although you can do it.it's the basic system file there,and also don't even cost you 50KB,why you want to remove it?

 

i deleted once not faced any problem but if u have space problem u can delete
