Can I recieve payments?

I searched the Forum but I could not find anything relevant. I have a paypal account, and I tried to add my bank account to it, when I tried to verify my bank account they sent me a verify payment thing where I have to put in the the amount they deposited, they sent me 2 pairs of deposits that were different, I tried the first one numerous times and it blocked my bank account from being verified. I can send payments, but i'm unsure whether I can recieve payments from other people. I'm thinking that the verify process is to lift the sending restriction although i'm not totally sure. I tried contacting paypal and they just messed me about or ignored me. I sent them numerous support emails and never got a reply. Also, can I still offer hosting with just a normal paypal account until I get a business bank account sorted?

Since you are from the UK, you can start receiving payments provided that you have Business or Premier Paypal account.

As for the verification, you can only do it once for each bank account and since it was successful around the first time, you cannot re-verify using it.

It was not sucessful in verifying because they sent 2 lots of deposits and 1 of them was wrong. I will upgrade my account to a premier as that seems the most relevant one to at this moment in time because I don't have a business bank account. But do I have to verify my bank account to recieve payments? Or is the verify process there to just lift sending restrictions, etc?

I just upgraded to premier account. Would anyone be kind and test it? With a few pence or cents?

Does your account shows that you are verified or unverified ? If it shows as Verified then there is nothing else you can do.

Even with an unverified account, you can still receive payments, there would most likely be a limit that you can receive until the verification process completes.

I am not sure about the UK but when I added my bank account, there was no verification process. During the first withdrawal to the bank account, they will check to see if the money can be transferred and if it does, you will get the money. If not, it would bounce back.

Well i'm going add my savings account to my paypal as it would much easier to monitor, etc. It has a different account number so I should be able to verify it easily. Do you of any problems doing it that way?

I don't see that as a problem since you be operating a Premier Paypal account which is for private individuals.
