Can I put scanned newspaper clippings in my site?

    Hi,

    Will it be a copyright violation if I include scanned newspaper clippings that contain interesting news in my website? The source and date shall also be mentioned. Also, the images would not be uploaded on the same day the newspaper is published. I need your views.

    I think unless the newspaper prohibits copying of the content of its pages IN the newspaper itself - it should be fine...

    No you absolutely cannot copy content from a newspaper without their permission. If you do you risk getting yourself sued. Email them asking for permission to use their work first.

    Yes, you can as long as you got explicit permission from the newspaper directly. Some do sell rights for you to republish an article even if the article is about you.

    If you do not have the permission, you probably got to be really very careful as you can get sued.
