Can I put a hyperlink in a footer?

Greetings all! New member to the forum and I am learning more than my brain can hold.

I have scoured the web trying to figure out how to put a link inside a footer. Everytime I add the code that I think should go in there, it breaks my site.

I just want to add a simple line that says, "Click here to advertise with us on the bottom line next to the copyright.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

    Have you tried putting this line "<a href="http://www.abc.com">Your link</a>" just above/below the line "TriviaForCharity.com © Copyright 2008"?

Hmm, tried to post it right above and below the copyright, but no luck. I can post simple text, but can't figure out how to place a link. Will go try smartoptions.co.za...

Thanks to Ecreation, got it figured out. I was using double quotes instead of single quotes. Thanks!
