Hi, Is it a violation to purchase products using my own CJ links? While posting links, I saw stuff I want to buy. It would be nice if I could get the commision as well. Thanks Smokey
Thats great, thanks mariense It would be nice to test this vendor, because I am going to do a lot of advertising for them, and want to make sure they give decent service. Smokey
You can unless the merchant states you can't. It's a good way to test to be sure the merchant links are tracking.
I signed up for web hosting using my own affiliate link and was very interested to discover I received NO commission. Since this particular company is the only web hosting company that's also never converted for me in a few months, I am smelling something rotten. Needless to say I removed their links from my sites. Its pretty disappointing and makes me wonder what other advertisers are stiffing me. I 'suppose' it could be just that they don't pay when you use you own affiliate link - but I don't see how they would know. I didn't see anything that said that wasn't allowed, anyways.
The best test for this is to open 2 accounts for the affiliate in question and compare whether funds go through either account after purchase is completed.
Good idea; but to be honest I can't be bothered. I just dropped them and replaced them with another hosting company's ads. There's a lot out there offering good commissions that do pay, no need to bother with BS like that.
Well I dropped CJ for the same exact reason a few months ago, so I feel where you are coming from. Even though the 'zon is huge they are more reliable for me based on my own history with them. Heppy Hunting!!
Figured out what happened in my situation - the pc at work where I made the purchase had cookies disabled, so my sale couldn't be tracked. My bad.
