Hi everyone, I am new in here just want to say hi and hope that this forum and site is a great place to share info and learn. I am a baby at internet marketing I have been searching and learning about affiliate marketing for a few months. I was just recently laid off from work so now just need a quickie kick start. I have signed up some of affiliate network such as clickbank, CJ, Linkshare. I plan to promote weight loss products and thinking about a domain name. I am wondering if it is possible to sell products without a website or blog. I have read that from a forum site lately and mentioned that we can use google base http://www.google.com/base, if you don't have a website, google creats a page for you. If I use this way to promote affiliate products, do I need a domain name and get web hosting. I appreciate that if anyone can give me a bit of advice. Thank you. Kind regards, vs8598
you can do PPC and send people straight to the offer but if you are serious about IM then get a website.
Hey, Thanks for those responses, I am thinking about create a blog, but I am not good in writing. Is it OK to get a free website at www.webs.com, is it good? Thanks!
There is no free lanuch now. To promote your products, i suggest you to create your own website or blog. You can promote the products on your website and blogs. Easy and simply. But i do not think a guy who is not good at writing can promote his products well. So before you begin your business, find some time to learn from the related forums and blog. Hope you have a good starting on your business road.
to promote your own product, probably you can't however if you are promoting someone else's product than you can try to use an affiliate, I suggest you check out the bum marketing techniques (which is a free course online)
Your best bet would be to have your own website on your own domain. If you just don't have the money to spare, you can create a free blog at www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com or a Squidoo lens at www.squidoo.com. Do some research on each of these so you can weigh the pros and cons and make a decision. There's going to have to be content written at some point in some way or another though, so if you don't like writing you'll have to get someone else to do it for you. As far as promoting an affiliate link on it's own and getting a lot of traffic, it'll be tough, so you'll need to have content written to promote the link. (for example in a blog). Good luck!
If you don't want to get a hosting, using free-hosted platforms like blogger or wordpress is your best bet. They are pretty easy to use and update as well.
Hello vs8598 The # 1 problem most struggling affiliates have is generating traffic.......to any affiliate vendor, you can start without a website ....however your goal will be to scale up to having a website as soon as you can There is a way to integrate squidoo, articles, and free blogs to get your website indexed, and generate links, and direct traffic for free...think of it as a owning more internet real estate ==>>
THat's bad if you are not good in writing, then you should hire writer for your blog writing because your write-up should have to be interesting and useful.
Squidoo, Twitter, Hubpages, Blogspot, Youtube. The list goes on and on and on and on. You don't need a webpage to promote anything. Just some time and effort.
With website it might be easy but u can do without a website also. just let people know through mails, blogging, bookmarking etc.
All of the above advice is good, but, unless you live somewhere with very low expenses, and you have very few and very small bills, you won't be making enough money any time soon to earn a living.. Especially with you just starting out and not even having a website or being very good at writing.. I would be surprised if you could get to the point of making $100/mo before the end of the year.. I recommend that you spend your time finding a job.. Then you can go back to learning how to be an affiliate marketer and develop websites..
For clickbank etc it's best to make your own web site and then bundle the product as a review. That gets peoples interest. But over all blogs or web sites get the most hits as people need to trust the source Doesn't help just to send them to the aff link. Too commercial.
Of course you can, there are tons of ways to promote products without websites, although there are tons of ways to get website for free (not the best idea if you are serious about making money online)
