Can i play songs on my site.

    I am needing a help from you people. I am interested to create a site like www.in.com

    I tried to look but cant find as is there any license required for playing a songs on the site. also if anybody knows where can i get a huge database of indian songs.

    Please help dp members

    I'd recommend you use the embed feature on grooveshark (grooveshark.com)... I don't know how much Indian content there is, but you can upload directly to it and play the songs right on your site.

    i am still looking for an solution so that i can play music on my site. it is really a pain to download all songs and maintain it.

    If they fail, the song gets removed and as per their TOS they are 'responsible'. They have the rights to over 600,000 songs, I think they are covered since they literally bathe supporting companies in cash. (The company posted $37 million in PROFITS after PAYING $54 million out in right usage fees.) The company is just over 8 months old and on the fast track to making billions.

    Either purchase your own licenses, Or use a service that pays the fees and has a embed function. I don't know anything about Indian law and if they even abide by any World Intellectual Property Laws.

    Knowing that would probably be the first step in pointing you in the right direction.

    There is no problem to play songs in your site, providing you have license to stream the songs online.

    songs has copyrights too, so you can't without getting premission of streaming
