Can I Place 2 GA Codes On One Page?

Discussion in 'Google Analytics' started by dezinerite, Jun 4, 2012.

I want to help a friend with internet marketing and I'll be helping him drive traffic to his site. Unfortunately, he's got Analytics installed with his Google account. I want to analyze his traffic (especially from the sources that I'm working on). Would it be possible for me to place my GA code on his site, even if his is already there? Would the same statistics come up on both our accounts? Thanks.

It is preferable to use one tracking code.

Okay thanks. I've actually asked my hosting provider to enable Awstats (strange enough this has not been enabled for my account, no idea why).

Just ask your friend to grant access to you as user in GA accounts

Can't because his GA account is on his primary email account (Gmail).

Yes you can use your code on his site as well. Placing 2 analytics code on a single site does not create any problem. I've been doing this since years now!

But statistics will be a bit different according to your settings, as in, when the day changes (as per GMT) for your account may not be the same for his account.

Overall statistics are the same though.

No need to put your GA code on his site. You can access others google analytics and analyze traffci date. Just follow the below steps how to get other users access to your Analytics account.

To grant access when adding a new user:

    1. Click User Manager
    2. Click Add User
    3. Enter the user's email address, last name, and first name. The email address must be a Google Account.
    4. Select the Access type for this user: View reports only, or Account Administrator, which allows the user to edit account settings
    5. Select the profiles to which this user should have access. Reports for profiles that are not selected will not be available to this user
    6. Click Add to move these profiles into the Selected Website Profiles list
    7. Click Finish to create the new user. They can now log in using their Google Account email address and password.

You can or he can add you as user, you don't need to add 2 adwords code to the website.

I use both GA and Lucky Orange, together they work really well, and both scripts are on the same pages.

Instead of using 2 GA scripts,i suggest you to add the email of ur friend in your analytics account so that you both can get notifed about the details of traffic...

You can use your Google Analytics code in the same website. or else you can ask user access for your client.
