I have added a Wordpress blog to my Windows Cold Fusion and it is really slowing the site down. The blog has a fair amount of activity and is in a directory on the domain named server. Can I use a .htaccess referral or another method to keep the SEO value but have it on a different machine?
So, I am such a noob, I don't know how to put different servers (ip addresses?) under one domain. Do I just tell my hosting company to do it? Or is it so simple, even an idiot like me can do it?
We've all gotta start somewhere. You change your nameservers, and this will point your domain name to your new hosting provider.
dcristo has given you correct answers. The same things that I would tell you. Don't feel discouraged, everyone starts at some time and will learn things as you go along. Good luck to you
decristo; I still need to have a windows server with Cold Fusion capability and Wordpress blog under the same domain. Not sure how to get that on a new hosting company. Can I use a different server for the blog and keep the windows server for the Cold Fusion apps and still have it seen by Google as the same domain? In other words, 2 servers but seen as a single domain?
all I know is that you should be using WordPress, moreover make sure that your server isn't holding too many images or apps that can interfere with your server
