Friends can i start a torrent website with mybb ??? what all i will need to start a website like bwtorrents and all and is that legal or illegal ./// can anyone guide me plzzz.
Torrents are illegal ! Why you should know it ? Because you will need an offshore dedicated server ( quite costly ). Not sure about mybb part, so - wait for someone else to post an answer ..
there are several different kind of scripts like for eg: tgp, you can get more information on google.
MyBB customer support is lousy, for forum software use something else, for example PHPbb3 which is also free and apparently has much better support and a better community attached to it, sharing tips, guidance and advice. As for Torrent, that's outside of my area of experience. No idea what it is, what it does, what it's for. Someone else will have to advise you on that front. All I know is that MyBB forum software customer service is awful.
torrents arent illegal, the content you torrent could possibly be illegal! So if its legit files you want to share then go for it. As for mybb being a torrent tracker...i dont think so.... you need a dedicated server and there are some decent scripts around that work a heap better as a tracker! like the bloke above said, search google for the scripts i believe some of them are free! Failing that, hit up some of the guys that own their own private tracker. They will give you the best heads up on what to use.
I love MyBB, love the admin interface, and have never had anything but friendly help from the support forum. And as already pointed out, torrents aren't illegal. That's like saying a hyperlink is illegal. Or a sentence is illegal.
torrent sites are illegal if you add adult or copyrighted content but without that content torrent site doesn't grow so its better to make some other sites
Using MyBB would work fine.. You would use the forum to link to torrents which isn't illegal and some hosts allow it in the states even.
Different horses for different courses. Some people like a place, others hate it and vice versa. A world of difference is good. Certainly the admin interface was excellent, I'll give you that, but I gave up using MyBB ages ago, I just found the customer service very rude and virtually non existent. Shame as the product (which is free anyway) looked good, however I don't take well to rudeness at all, so left them for another company.
