Can I make money hiring a programmer to write code for web applications for me and then pitching it to companies?
I assume azizny is meaning the seed capital required to finance the running of your business between the time you set it up and you get your first sales - or better still until you start turning a monthly profit. You will have many overheads to start with, hardware, development licenses, premises (maybe) and, of course your programmer will need to eat as well! If you already have a product to take to market then this timeframe should be drastically reduced and your initial capital requirements will be reduced. Have you got a product? Is it ready to go? Are there any quick sales you can get. My advice is draw up a realistic business plan and get someone - like a bank manager of business adviser to go over it. Its the old addage - if you fail to plan then you plan to fail! Incidentally, one short cut you could take is to offer your programmer some 'sweat shares' in the company ie a stake in return for taking very low or even no wages to begin with. This costs more in the long term but by then you'll be making so much cash you wont notice. It also substantially builds loyalty from your programmer. Good luck!
