Can I make a site like this with Wordpress or Do I have to pay?

I want to start a site for medical conditions, and people can write and submit their articles and stuff.

But I have no idea how to design a website.

I found a site that has an example, it shows that the person can join and register to have a profile and send in their own articles.

But I am only using wordpress and I notice when members join wordpress and you add them as a writer they can see your dashboard and I don't like that.

 

Yeah wordpress can do that, no problem.

People can have different accounts to post with different privileges, and log in to the admin panel just like you do. I haven't used it extremely much myself but what does it matter if they see your dashboard if they can't do anything, other than write an article.

The thing I am worried about is hacking. So its safe to use wordpress? like if I want to have some bloggers who are interested and blogging for my medical info site they just have to sign up or do I sign them up?

By the way How much would it cost to have someone make me a site that is not wordpress but something simple and similar to examiner.com or bleacher report with the user generated profiles and allows members who are approved to post their articles through their own login.

 

You can do it with word press. you have to install the article directory plugin from http://articlesss.com/article-directory-wordpress-plugin/. you can modify the user settings the way you want. wordpress is best suited CMS for this type of websites.

if you are planning to enroll professionally with this site then you should get it designed and created by some professionals as their will be a lot of difference related to the quality and also technical aspects, if u get it done by a professional designer. and incase u r coming up with site for personal interest then try it yourself to do it as lots options are available on net ..u just need to devote time practise and study..

Is that a safe plugin? it seems some of those comments say the articles get deleted when they update the plugin

wordpress has myriad of options to extend its look and capability, you can find free themes and plugin to custom your site with only minimum knowledge of programming and you always have the option to hire someone to do some hack for you

And yes wordpress is amazing! and is safe, Just make sure to update it as often as you can

 

Try PHPLD. It's a link and article directory already set up to do want your saying you want to do. The script is like $30 i think. You can change the settings easily and take out the link directory stuff if you want.

 

I would probably go for wordpress if I were you, PHPLD is also a possibility, but it is more suited for link directories for sure
