Can I link a debit card to Paypal with a different first name that my account?

    Hi everyone.
The thing is that my current Paypal account was created two years ago by a relative, because I was completely clueless of how to do it. She opened the account just for me and I've been the only one to use it all along. That relative of mine is now deceased, but the Paypal account still has her name and last name. And the debit card that I have been used was also under her name, it expired about a week ago.
I want to know, is it possible to link a debit card with Paypal if the debit card has my name on it? We still have the same last name though. If not, why does Paypal allow you to edit the field of the first name when adding a card to your account?
If not, another question I wanted to ask, I will close my account and open a new one. But is it possible for me to re-open that account if I want to?? Will Paypal ask me for anything extra or not?
    Thanks.

Hello, I am not really sure but I have already tried linking two accounts to my paypal account. 1st account was with my bank account, the one with the book and second was the debit card only account.

The address field is also editable so meaning to say, you can still change the address that you have in the paypal to match with the card you would like to link. by the way, is the paypal you are using now still has balance? or still receiving payment? if so, you can also just create a NEW paypal account and link it to your new card. Once you're done, transfer the balance or money in your old paypal to the new one so you can withdraw the money in the old account and start using the new one. stop using the old account so you can make sure that every transaction is under your name from now on.

    HOpe this helps! :)
Let me know if you still have other things to clarify :)
    Cheers!

You should be fine adding a card with a different name, I have sometimes added my partners card to make a payment and then removed it afterwards. Each time I have had no issues.

If you planing to verify your paypal account, than it is not possible. The card holder name must be the same as the name in your paypal account.
