Can i lie about how many users are registered?

    Say i have a vbulletin forum and at the botttom or side or wherever it shows how many registered users there are can i change the number of how mnay registered users there are?

    I don't think it is possible, unless you create some fake accounts yourself.

    www.vbulletin.org has a mod that does exactly that you can choose how many users and how many are shown ect,.

    it's always good to "make it look bigger than it is" (hey, how do you think i got such a goodlooking wife?) - just be careful that you dont get all overboard.. A forum that claims to have 30,000 members, but only 25 posts might look a bit fishy..
    do it right and it will be helpful - i've always made a point to let everyone know how many members our site had (after it broke 5k or so)..

    vb.org has a fake user stats mod, but I wouldn't use it
    it will only piss your members off when they see they are the only ones posting, and your site says you have 100 users online :D

    It doesn't make sense even if you can display a fake registered users.
    Why not focus on promoting you forums ?

    Well yea there is a mod showing fake stats but it can be detected easily.
