Can I leave all my pages in two languages in the same (root) folder? (not much choice)

    Hi,

    I'm using Bubble for my website, a nocode product. I love it, but let's be honest, SEO were the last of their concern.
    I'm launching my service in a second language with the same tech stack, but I have heavy constraints.
    I can't have folders or subdomains, so I can't separate my content with en.domain.com or domain.com/en

    If I leave all my pages in two languages in the same (root) folder, but if they each have their link rel alternate and href well defined, can this still be OK for Google?

    I know it's far from ideal, but SEO-wise, can I hope to rank OK (I'm currently doing OK and growing with only one language), or will this mess my whole website?

    With the sitemaps well crafted of course.

    I can however add a parameter in the url to distinguish the languages, but I think doing this would be worse than doing what I explained above.

    Any feedback greatly appreciated!
