I have been wracking my brain trying to improve the cpc of my highest clicked ad unit. I've done everything I know how to do to increase it's cpc. It easily gets more than 5 times the amount of clicks of my next most popular unit. The huge issue is that my second most popular unit gets about 6 times higher cpc than my most popular. Today I had an idea, and I wonder if I can just swap the code out on my page. Can I just take the high cpc unit and put it in the location that gets the higher ctr, and then put the lower cpc unit in the location that gets the lower ctr? I can easily triple my website earnings if this is a viable solution. Please respond quickly with your thoughts, as I already swapped the code. I want to make sure I'm not violating any terms by swapping the code. I also want to make sure I'm not just going to drive down the cpc of both units, therefore lowering my income. So far, everything I've tried to increase my income either has no effect, or lowers my cpc.
But do you think the same cpc will hold, or will they gradually revert to their old cpc? Or even worse, will they both just plummet to the lower cpc?
OK, WHAT THE HELL!?!?! I give up I guess. I swapped out the ad units, and they just lowered the cpc on the top unit. The unit that was making more is now making less. It's like they do everything they can to make sure I can't get high paying clicks on my most popular unit! GAAAAH! How can I get the high clicked unit to pay the high cpc that my lower clicked unit gets? I swapped their positions and now they both get crappy cpc.
