    Hey,

I have just put this site together over the last two days, it is going to be an affiliate site.

The main way I was going to get traffic is by sub mitting my content to article directories, and submitting the site to directories as well.

Firstly I would like a critque of the site so far please, bearing in mind i have only spent two days on it.

Also would there be any other ways to get this off the ground. I dont really have the money to put into PPC, i wanted to use revenue generated from the site to see how things go.

    www.compareonlinetv.com

    any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Timbor.

I think its cool, good colours and choice of layout, bit empty at this present time however, I guess you can't write that much about online tv though.... hmmm

maybe some more pics in action etc.

    Good luck bud

I like the cartoon characters in the middle of your site. Perhaps change the header and the "welcome" section to match it??? Maybe have a cartoon-type character with a thought bubble coming out of it with that section in it?

    http://www.compareonlinetv.com/index.php/movies/tv-shows/music/games-download-comparisons.html

I went to this page, but the pics in your chart are very hard to see. That may hurt you right there.

The "compare" sections on the bottom of your homepage should have more to it. Add samples from the pages to it, along with more of a sales pitch.

Maybe put in a section on the people's favorite service providers???

It's hard to keep people's attention, so maybe take your links on the top left and right and move them to the bottom of your pages? That's where their eyes end, and many of them will not scroll back up again.

    Keep them clicking!

Hey thanks for your input. I have not added any content as yet. I just finished what you see last night. Only been working on this for about two days.

Makes good sense about the images side of things - I will look into what I can do about that.

anyone have any thoughts about the marketing side of things? i think what I am proposing to do will work. But any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

in response to links at the bottom of the page, I will be adding these as well. There is alot more that is going to happen in the next couple of days.

The marketing of the site is what I would like to know about. This is my first real attempt into affiliate marketing with a site. I have done PPC stuff last year and made some money, but however last year i had not idea about anything when it comes to websites etc.. which I went away and learnt. So that side of things I can handle, and do fast now as well.

But to get thing up and running and running well is where I am at now. I understand that content and site structure are important. There is alot of content I can write on this topic, and that is the next job. But getting visitors translating into sales is the next step.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Well I like the design. First thing is you need more content.
Your best bet would be bum marketing.

that is what I was thinking.

LOL, everyone keeps saying i need more content. I started this project 2 days ago... trust me the content is coming.

Bum marketing was going to be the main way I was thinking about getting this site going. Umm quick question to anyone. Has anyone had good results from it??

    Just wondering....

Add some flashy images or noises, these make people happy.

    hmm, interesting suggestion.

I have built this site thinking about how I like to go about my business online. One thing I cant stand are flashy images and loud noises. It just turns me off instantly. But hey thats the great thing about people we are all different. But without a million dollar budget to conduct market research, then I think I will stick with what I like. Which are simple, easy to use and understand sites. No fluff or BS.

But thanks for your suggestion tho.

You should probably polish up your grammar and sentence structure a bit - there are a few errors on the front page.

The overall design is nice for only having spent two days on it - you are heading in the right direction. From a visual design perspective, you might want to organize your content a little better - glancing quickly at the main page, I can't pin-point a focal point (everything has the same visual weight). You might consider picking one piece of content and making it stand out more than everything else.

Nice site. My first comment is that you need to make it obvious, quickly to the visitor this: WHAT is the BENEFIT of the SITE? Make it BOLD and LARGE!

The site is well done, but I think you need a bit more graphics to get the BENEFIT message through.

    Success,
    Sam

I don't like all the flags on the side, and use png instead of jpeg images.

why use png? jpeg loads quicker, and the flags are relevant the content if you read the heading..

I think you need to get the call to action more focused. Offer something free or some type of a hook to get them to fill a webform. Remember 95% of Internet are not forum geeks like us. They fill in the forms and buy if the site is not loaded with scatter ads and adsense. Set up good written auto-responders series and about the 5-7 th touch they should be ready to roll. good luck!
