Can I give away money?

    I want to give money away to people on my website for posting and reffering others. I am in Canada.

    Am I allowed to do that? Any legal issues?

    There are laws in the US that govern contents and other games of chance. You need to check in your area what the requirements are. Most will do it anyways and if you are small enough, chances of prosecution are minimal as nobody really cares to do so. Once you get larger and there is a big enough crowd, be careful and also make sure that whatever you do will result in a clear winner and that there is little chance for disputes. I have posts on my forums at thelaw.com about people who have had disputes with those who have had contests. That's when the trouble begins.
