I've got a curious blog question. I have a blog that is 2 months old, and with the latest PR update I received a PR4. I have done little to know work in regards to inbound linking. I exchanged links with the person who developed the blog, but other than that, my main site links to it. At the time of the update, I didn't have the 3-4 links I now have, as I just got those a few days ago. Can a site get to a PR4 with just adding unique content, for the most part, daily? My blog is: http://www.washington-real-estate-news.com/
I some times wonder whether page rank is related to the particular niche a site is placed in. In my niches, so many sites have similar ranks, tis rare to see a single site have significantly more TBPR than its fellows
What is the pr rating of your main site that links to it? I suspect it may be a pr 5. I have several pr 5 sites that I use to link to new sites. This generally results in the new site being a pr 4 within 2-3 months if it has any content. I have had new ranks ranked pr 2 using this method when all they had on them was "this domain is for sale" ad plus an email address.
Nobody knows exactly how PR is calculated, but one main factor in it is the PR of other sites linking to you.
no you can't get PR just by adding content.....The Toolbar PR is outdated bu six months...do not get caught up with it.....you can outrank a site with higher PR if your site is optimized correctly
Don't suppose there is any chance Shawn can back the word "Pagerank" or "PR" is there? Please.........
If you have link exchanged with the PR5 blog that had only two links outgoing links Then I am very sure that you may get PR4
At least you have link exchange with a PR3, will probably will get pr2. Pr4,you get pr3. Pr5 you will get pr4. But also depend on your content!
yes we all do, its a formula that's been trademarked and is out there for all to see... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank
You have quite a number of backlinks according to Yahoo and most of them are from Joe Lane. Yes unique content can get you to a PR4. If people like your content and link to you on a consistent basis, and you get some high PR links, there is every possibility you can get to a PR4. However natural link building like this rarely happens unless you have an exceptional site, and so in real life, we do not see blogs going to PR4 without doing nothing but content. Yet, good content always helps you in the long run.
Nope, you can't get PR by justing updating your site daily.. however you can get a lot of traffic because of high SERPs.... to get PR, you need some PR backlinks
Let's step back a moment. What is PR? PR is a measure of how popular/important a particular page is. This is measured by the number of links to the page, and the PR of the pages that link to it. It is an exact measure, although as we know the PR that's published by Google and visible in the toolbar lags behind the value that Google uses in its day-to-day calculations. The content of the sites linking to you is irrelevant to PR - only the number of links and the PR of the pages linking is relevant. So - can you get increased PR for a page by just adding new, unique content on a regular basis? Of course you can! If the content you add is interesting to other people, you will get more links to your page - hence bigger PR. Simple! If the content you add is not unique, or not judged to be interesting, then you won't get new links, and your PR probably won't change. Remember also that links from your own page (e.g. from your home page) could boost PR of subsection pages - e.g. if your home page attracts new links, and gains in PR, then the existing links from your home page to your section pages have the increased PR weight, and could boost the PR of those pages. You can get pagerank with just 1 link - it all depends on a couple of factors regarding the link to your site So you can do very little work and get a good pagerank, same you can do lots and get the same pagerank
You got more than 300 Link i think you should get PR4 http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=li...n-real-estate-news.com&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz2&x=wrt
PR is not about content, however if your content is useful, eventually some will link to you and you raise the PR
I wrote a blog post a day or 2 ago concenring this and it answers your question. http://www.aaronnimocks.com/dont-just-focus-on-content.html
Its true that Inbounding links helps you in getting high pr but i think that having good and related contents is also most important. Thanks Steve
