I've seen that one before and it's very cool because it's so well integrated, it does not have the complete annoyance factor going. It's still a popup, but one that probably won't make users too upset. For free? I doubt you'll have much luck in that department.

Please do. I could use something like that. I came close to reverse engineering what they have, but I'm not that good with javascript and didn't quite understand all of thier code.

It's using transparent PNG's and IE can't render them. Try looking at this page in IE - not so pretty now! :)

Fortunately for those of us that hate pop-ups, this is not a pop-up, which is a separate browser window and a pain to get rid of when about a couple of dozens of them are open. This one is just an annoyance. I simply leave the website that covers their main content with something I have to click on. Many people do the same. It's a simple rule of thumb - you don't click it, they won't bother you.

I took a look, and it's not anything near as cool as instantattention.com. I think that free script is just as annoying as a popup window. Good luck using it on your site.

You guys may want to check out Instantattention.com's latest offering, which has quite a few new features. There are some great graphics and a cool built in mail grab feature. http://www.adimpact.com

I bought into instantattention but then they moved everything over to adimpact and at the old price level I was forced to show their "branding" in my ad, which I never had before.

I am looking for an alternative as I don't feel it's right to pay more to now remove their branding.

This is simply a layer on top of the page, with a simple PNG image (with alpha transparency). It is true that IE does not natively support png transparency, but this is easily fixed with a custom beahvior (just google "ie png behavior")...

I tried the easyattention demo but it didn't show the image in Firefox. Don't know about the other browsers but this didn't impress me.

I then contacted their tech support and also design (asking for faces) but no reply in 24 hours. Also their blog site is down. It doesn't look good.

These are pretty cool. But I would use them sparingly. Like a popup, users would have to close them before they can see what's underneath it. Make the Close Window button very prominent. There's nothing more annoying than not being able to figure out how to close the popup.

Raza from EasyAttention did get back to me. My email to them had been caught in their spam filter by accident.

He offered me a free license for all the hassles, which I appreciate. Thanks Raza - that's good customer service.
