I have tried this many times in the past, and haven't been very successful. I know about SEO and how to market, but I am more of a programmer so I do not have time to put in the work to advertise my sites. I know how to make profit from my sites when I work hard to advertise them, so why can't I find someone who knows how to market too? There have been some guys that I have paid who create a few Google group posts or emails their members, and they may get a handful of potential customers but no profit. However if I go out and advertise, I can bring in people. My life would be so much better if I can PAY someone who can make me PROFIT. If you charge a million dollars, that is OK as long as you can make me 1.5 million in return. Does such a person exist? I am not sure if I want to just promote my directories, or one of my music sites. Please pm me if you know what to do and know how to bring me customers and not poor people.
There are only a handful of expert SEO's - and thousands who claim to be. Anyone who is a true expert can make a lot of money promoting their own sites, so they charge hefty prices (figure $5K a month and up). No legitimate SEO will guarantee a certain ranking or certain profit. If they could make you a $1.5million site, why would they need you? Even if you paid them a million, they are really giving you $500K for their work. There are a lot of great web designers. There are tons of excellent programmers. There are many good content writers. There are few good SEO's who can build quality links and market your site. There really isn't any substitute for doing your own marketing. I think I'm a pretty decent designer, and I can do some programming - but I outsource most of it because the time it takes isn't worth my "marketing time". Saving thousands might sound good, but not when you compare it to returns good marketing can give - it's not even close. Everything you need to know can be found on the web - it just takes time to learn and weed through all the bs that people post. It can takes years and years to become really proficient at marketing - and it's a constant learning process. What worked great 2 years ago, won't work today.
Well that is the problem... I do EVERYTHING on my own and it has reached a point where I cannot keep up with all of the new customers needing programming, members on sites asking for help, advertising, hosting, the list goes on. It has reached a point where I need help but it seems that there is no one out there who can actually earn their money to advertise. Of course I was using 1.5 million as an exaggeration... I was basically saying that I do not mind paying someone good money as long as they bring in money as well.
hi, the principle of getting traffic are linking and relevancy. You need relevant content, with relevent strategies (video-articles-blog posts) to create relevant links. The more links you have the more traffic so as long as your offer is sound you WILL make money. I am saying all this because you can outsource all of those processes. Dave
Hmm, not sure why you guys are giving me advice when the point of my topic is to ask for someone who can advertise for me in an effective way. I can get people to my site myself, but I am too busy to handle everything at this point.
The only effective way to get spending people on to your site is via Adwords or similar. What you need is an Certified Adwords Professional. I know of a few if you are interested in speaking with them.
I know exactly what you are saying. I like designing much better than marketing - it's just that there are so few people who are really good SEO and who do it for others. If you are a top SEO, there is so much demand from large clients that they can actually pick and choose. I own a lot of domains - and a lot of sites, but about two years ago I decided to select a small group that had the best potential and concentrate only on those - basically ignore the rest. As all the domains were aged, I decided to give them a year to produce x on a monthly basis. If they don't, then another one is added. It's been the best thing I could have done. Too many sites means too many mediocre sites that languish in obscurity - or at least ones that don't come close to realizing their potential.
