All I have is output. You'll have to input it yourself.

I appreciate your output for input into my research; thanks. :p

We're going to do a show on Blog Talk Radio on Sunday, about the top results from the poll.

    Sunday 8pm EDT

    Thanks again!

Input, or was that output? given.

Very surprising that the war in iraq is the most important issue ;)

The only one I was surprised about was that education was above some of the other economic problems we're having.

Education should always be the number one priority. The smarter people are the easier it will be to sort out the other problems, but with a populace of imbeciles a nation will only continue to make stupid mistakes.

Yes, I was a little surprised by the weight of the education response. However, I wonder if it would be less if I'd not identified the poll as part of a college research?

Thanks for the rep, but I don't like the poll.

It's not clear if selecting Education means I want politicians to talk about it or not. Does it mean I want more education, or less? More funding or less? Moe choices or less?

Same with most of the other questions.

A neocon might say "Iraq war" because he thinks murder is wonderful. A socialist democrat might say "Iraq War" because it is a counter point to the (sic) conservative position. Taking a position on say, a "withdrawal" might yield much more useful results.

I've seen some people who were very book smart but unable to manage their money. We can get out of some of the crazy situations we put ourselves by just using some common sense. :)

I'm not saying education is useless, because it would be dumb to say so. I just don't think that having book smarts will fix everything else in the world.

Education isn't just about reading something and remembering it. The most valuable things people take from their education are the processes used during the education. Admittedly being able to rattle off the dates of every major war and knowing the atomic weight of magnesium is in it's self fairly useless, but being able to correlate data, understanding the political reasons for the wars and understanding the scientific process is invaluable.

It's the methods used during our education which are important rather than the facts we learn.

In short, the important questions are how and why, Not what.
