I've just started some new campaigns and for the first time have pushed the boat out a touch on the Content Network. I have a few, hopefully, simple questions. How does Google work with Longtail keywords by way of QS, because my words, and there are only a few in this ad group, are too long or obscure to incorporate sensibly and cleanly into an ad? Also, unless they have an amazing algorithm, i can't see how they'd see any relevancy. Should i worry? Will The Big G slap me on content? I know you can get away with murder on content, but i do wonder whether they'll come and slap me anyway, i mean do they even slap on Content, i've certainly never had a slap on the Content Network before? Cheers.
Naa, the only worry to have on content is getting the ad approved. If it is mobile make sure it's compliant.
Here's a tip: Always split the content and the search network from each other because they ALWAYS perform different from each other. Also: go for placement targetting in combination with a small list of highly relevant keywords. If you do that your ads will perform much better because they only show on relevant pages and websites you trust. For example Ebay and niched portals and forums. You can even use dynamic keyword insertion!
I've actually been slapped on the content network. I had separate campaigns for search and content but both using the same domain and when I got slapped on Search, Content followed shortly after. I have also been slapped on a Content only domain where I used separate domains for Content and Search...so yeah I would say you can get slapped on the content network as well.
It's content only, i am pretty experienced in Adwords, so certainly did that! I do use placement targetting as a sideline, but i need to "carpet bomb" with Content Ads. I was just curious how on earth Google treats Longtail KW in relation to QS, Relevancy and getting a big fat slap.
Thanks, that's pretty much what i wanted to hear. Do you own PPC Coach? I'm likely to be a member there shortly, heard some good things about your little PPC clique!
