I am in charge of marketing a product for my friend, its a hypnosis / self help course.

The site is barely even started, but I have a dilemna I need your opinion on.

I registered the domain name nlpexperts.co.uk 3 months ago, got it to number one for the term 'NLP Experts' - 306,000 competitors in google UK- by linking to it from just 5 of my website and because its in the domainname. It has now slided down to number 5, but could easily be fixed.

However, the search term I really want is ' NLP Master Practitioner' - which I can't even get onto the first page for, and I've tried with a few hundred socialbookmarks / backlinks.

I have the domain name newageman.com - which has been registered since '06 but doesn't have any of the search terms in the domain. New Age Man has 25.1 million search results in google

which will be easier to get to number one??? nlpexperts.co.uk or newageman.com?? for the term 'NLP Master Practitioner' ???

what do you think the best strategy for doing this is????

I think you could achieve the requirement using either domain, but as the current ones indexed you might as well us it.

i think one of the problems which isn't helping you rank for the keyword phrase 'NLP Master Practitioner' is basically that the keyword phrase itself does not appear in the exact sequence anywhere within the on page content. I have read it pretty quickly as there's so much content, but i didn't spot the exact phrase.

I would recommend using a H1 tag at the top of the page using the required keyword phrase in the correct sequence.

You could also try using a H2 tag as a sub header further down the page.

Also insert the keyword phrase (correct sequence) so it appears at an approx 6/8% ratio related to the number of words on the page. Insert it so it just reads the same as the natural content within the paragraphs.

Try to use the phrase both at the top section of the site and also at the bottom section near the closing paragraphs.

Don't over do the keywords though as it will have the adverse effect, and also looks very spammy to visitors.

After the keyword count or ratio is sorted, go for some thematic back links, again using the keywords in the correct sequence.

    best of luck :)
