Can i get banned for buying traffic to my website(if i have adsense on it)?

    If its:
    - Pop-up/unders
    - Paid to click sites

    Etc.

    To boost pageviews.

    Thanks.

    Hi Scoxy,
I don't know if you can be banned for buying traffic or not, but I would like to say that buying traffic in the form of pop-ups/unders is not really the best way of promoting your site. I don't think it creates qualified traffic as most people simply close down pop-ups anyway. Or worse, have pop-up blockers that don't even allow pop-ups to appear.

You could try other marketing options such as advertising in newsletters, buying banner ads or even going to PPC advertising with Google (Adwords).

    Regards,

thanks for the response to my question. I was going to buy advertising on a lotto site, and i know it isn't true advertising but its cheap, and my site is simple, so in 30 seconds they have to stay there, they should actually get a good feel for it. Am i being optimistic?

Any more feedback would be great, thanks.

Hmmm, not sure to be honest. I did try pop-up advertising once to promote one of my new sites. I did receive the promised traffic but the average Page Views were very low for these visitors (just over 1). This means that most people saw the first page and closed the site and not many actually browsed through the site. It might work for your site if the pop-up is attractive enough though. You could always spend a little and try and see how it goes. Good luck! :)
