you got your second visitor from me just spread the word about your site, currently i use filehippo or download dot com for all my downloads, you need to make sure you connect with your users, offer them an incentive to swith to downloading from your site
Just upload a few free files to popular filesharing websites with your URL in the title. That should get the blood flowing. Don't ignore the advantage of simple social bookmarking, ever!

yes there is actually there are over 6 billion people in the world So go figure. Seriously. And I think there are already lots of information on this forum about this. And just think what you would want to be doing to find your website. And then make your website findable that way. Google for example.

you do know you could jsut buy 1,000 hits for like $2, they proberly wont be real people they will just be traffic bots but it useually builds up the alexa
You are simply linking to other downloading sites. so you wont get consistent visitors. better you host files in free hosts and link to them. Then drive traffic usig katz.
You can certainly meet your traffic goals, but if you are planning on keeping your visitors you will need something engaging. Otherwise I would just keep linking and building content for steady traffic due to SEO.
You can always create a pad file for the software and then submit that file to the hundreds of pad enabled software sites available.
