I'm a little new to CJ, but can I mention specific product names and write reviews about them? I know that the stores themselves don't want you to use their brand names in any SEM or adwords, but what about the names of the products that they carry? If this can be done, then are there ever any restrictions to this mentioned in the policies? how deeply should I look into this?
Trademark policy violations are taken very seriously at CJ. If you aren't sure about using branded term in your creative then it is best to first check with the advertiser. Send them email asking whether you can use desired term.
Each merchant is different with their keyword policy so you have to read the TOS carefully. If you are doing PPC be very careful with Trademarks and if you aren't sure, ask.
I probably didn't word my question right - I'm sorry. What I'm talking about is this, as example: Lets say I sign up for a tool merchant. Lets now say that I want to do a review of a specific screw driver - can I say "John Smith Co. screw driver model X86 is awesome" - and then direct them to the tool merchant's site? I understand the TOS, but the only merchant TOS that I have seen is when you read through the information before attempting to apply to the merchant's program. I have yet to really see a merchants policy that is different, though I read them all. I just want to be careful - do the merchants have affiliate managers? Sorry for the new questions - I respect and learn from you all - thank you so much!!
