I just bought a domain that contains what I feel is a hot keyword. Since I'm low on funds, can I just pass out flyers/biz cards with the domain, or just pass out flyers with the domain, or post blog comments with the domain in order to drive some traffic? My plan is to forward the domain to an affiliate and/or CPA page. If this is covered in another thread I apologize, and if you could point me to it I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Mr. G
Comment on blogs and write good articles and submit them to article directories. This will drive traffic
I recommend you to open a Twitter account with your keyword in the name, put the domain url in the url, start looking for people in your niche. Start giving good content to your followers with links to your site. This works like magic. Hope this helps, Jack
yes, drive traffic from twitter is a good idea. i have practiced this method and about 200 visitors/day were from twitter. thank you
Absolutely. Lots of articles, pinging and backlinking them, twitter. You can also point it towards weebly.com or blogger and create a site or blog for free to pre-sell your offers. There's tons more stuff you can do.
Thanks for all the replies. My biggest hurdle now is lack of internet access. I'm trying to find ways that I can best utilize my time. I can send Tweets from my cell phone, and I can write/prepare my articles offline and just type them up when I get online (I type pretty fast). One last question, I know it's best to have your own domain for these types of projects, but they can add up pretty quickly. Can I use a blogger blog, or wordpress blog's url when pointing/backlinking to weebly, twitter, etc. Well, I'm pretty sure I can, but I mean can it be effective? Thanks again for all your help. Later, Mr. G
Various online services allow domains to point at their pages. Sometimes the setup can be hard to understand (Google Sites help includes both their own instructions and a link to someone else's more thorough explanation). You should start by the kind of content which you'll post (blog or article/wiki style? forum?), find a provider which supports those features, then see if the provider allows a direct domain link. Passing out flyers with the domain name won't drive more than one visit per curious reader, unless you have a continuous flow of good content to cause them to return. You probably can't afford to print 1000 flyers or 1000 online ads per online visitor if they're not going to return.
