I see alot of sites that, when describing a movie, have the same movie synopsises, word for word.

Is there any sites that i am allowed to copy movie summarys word for word for my movie site?

Or do i have to make my own?

It depends on where the summaries originally came from and whether the original author gave permission for the summaries to be reprinted.

The only way to know if you can copy the summary or not (without penalty) is to do some digging. Find out who really owns the copyright for the summary. Then, find out if the copyright owner allows the summaries to be reprinted.

Your best bet is to create your own. That way you know for certain that you're not violating anyone else's copyright.

I would imagine though that the movie studios put out summaries that they permit use of by the public at large. I would check with them and find out...

It would be iffy. Depends who originally created the synopsis. If it was created by the movie company, even if it is copied, the movie company may not care since it would promote the movie. However, it would be best to create your own.

hmmmmm, yeah i guess i gotta weigh my options.

If i do create my own, it would certainly help with SEO (duplicate content is bad).
