Hi all, For the past three years we have been building a Danish blog about healthy food - www.madforlivet.com. As part of this, we have been trying to optimize the website to rank well on the Danish word for "healthy food", "sund mad". We have gotten a lot of high quality inbound links from relevant websites and we have moved from rank 31 on Google.dk to rank 14 on "sund mad". But now we are stuck and haven't really moved for a while despite getting more inbound links. I was hoping someone here could give us some advice on other things we can do to optimize our blog to rank well on a specific query. Can we do anything in addition to getting more inbound links? As our website is a blog, the content is dynamic and changes all the time so I'm not sure if we can do more to optimize the page to a static keyword/query. Are there any best practices for optimizing blogs to a specific keyword? Also, it would be great if someone could take a quick look at www.madforlivet.com to check if we are making any obvious mistakes from a SEO perspective. Thank you for your help! It's much appreciated! Best regards, The Danish Blogger Sund Mad - Madforlivet.com
One big advantage you have here is that since its a blog, the chances of your site being spidered is higher. Having said that, the next advantage you have is to optimize your pages. I notice that you are using Joomla, there should be some good seo plugins to help you write the right seo rich content. Since you mentioned that your site is stuck at a certain position, it clearly means that you need to get more backlinks. Try guest blogging or if you have a budget, go for a paid, high pr private blog network. It helps. Also have you tried submitting all your urls to atleast digg/reddit/delicious/stumbleupon??
