can I disagree with an infraction?

    Hi folks,

Ive just received an infraction for posting a thread in the wrong section - I do feel that the thread was in the right section though?

It was a facebook app for sale, which was in the sites for sale thread.

I feel that a facebook app is indeed a website, not an application, and even so surely "content sales" would still be the wrong place anyway?

If there were a thread called "application sales" or even "facebook content" or something I would have posted it there, but I feel that the generic term of site sale fits the bill best.

I would like a mod to reconsider this and let me know, I dont want an infraction for mis-posting in the wrong area for this - I dont think its a blatant flaunt of the rules?

thanks (and getting ready for a stream of -reps as seems to always happen when arguing back lol!)

    From the rules:

    - Thread started in wrong catagory - If you start a thread in the wrong forum because you do not have enough posts to start a thread in the correct forum (the Buy/Sell/Trade forum, for example), you will receive an infraction. If you start a thread in the wrong catagory, but it appears that you at least attempted to put it in the right forum, you generally will not receive an infraction.

( I feel that I have "at least attempted to put it in the right forum" )

    1. Get over it. It is really petty to start a whole thread about your infraction. What if everyone did that?

    2. It was clearly posted in the wrong area. SITES is for sites for sale, a website and domain. Yours is an app with no domain, it is not an operating website and does not belong in that category.

It is pretty funny to read you insist that your application is not an application, but rather a website.

Infraction normally last only for 3 months if I am right, nothing to worry about. Just be extra alert and careful next time. If ensure contact a Mod.

The actual URL of the application is:

    facebook-arcade.pokerwebsitedirectory.com

and while you install it as an "application" on your facebook page, all they really are is websites that fit into your profile by way of an iframe.

hence my definition that they should be considered a site, and further to my above post, it was done with best intentions, not some evil desire to post in the wrong place.

I wouldnt have a problem with it either were it not for the fact that Im on 6 already and they dont expire for another few weeks, and I really dont want any more (Ive learnt my lesson, the threat of being without DP chills me to the bone!)

    thanks

It wasnt a bump, it came 1 minute after the original post and there were no posts in the thread above it to "bump" past....

You still have 4 chances before being banned, by then some of your infractions might already expired. Don't worry too much about it.

Relax, when I was here I too receive an infraction, I felt the same way. But look for the moderators' perspective, they have tons of infractions to issue, tons of PM to reply. For minor things, who is right or who is wrong, lets just leave it and continue with life.

Give yourself a break, do not feel so upset and also give them a break too! Happy New Year!

The question is "Can I disagree with an infraction?"

Your answer is "Yes you can"

    MOG,

You are bound to get an infraction for this thread if you keep double posting. You have already done it twice in a short thread. There is simply no reason for your back to back posts. Use the edit button. Posting two consecutive times, within minutes, will be considered a bump and could get you an infraction.

This is another good reason not to make a useless thread about an infraction. This thread is more likely to end with you getting more infractions, not getting the one you are complaining about reversed.
