    You cannot design anything in adobe photoshop. Adobe photoshop is image editing application only. Go for illustrator or something else.

    As far I know, it is only for images editing or modification. No idea what you saying.
    You can make templates/designs but you cannot create logo or images.

    Of course you can. Just don't forget to set the resolution to 300dpi and use CMYK colors (for printing purposes).

    Use InDesign to layout your cover page.

    Illustrator is a better tool for doing logos, but you could use Photoshop. It would be like using a rock to pound nails -- it does the job, but why not use a hammer?

    If you want to work in Photoshop, then work in Photoshop. What are you most comfortable using? You can use PS, Illustrator, CorelDraw, etc...it all comes down to preference. I work almost exclusively in PS for designing - it's the industry standard along with Illustrator. If you'll be primarily designing logos then Illustrator will offer you more options from the vector design aspect. If you have to learn both PS & AI you'll find you can create vectors and import them into PS quite easily...best to learn them both if you have the time.

    Photoshop is a Image editor, but it's your choice to make your Cover page from Photoshop, Illustrator, Picasa, PhotoFunia..etc
    We are using in place of Cover page

    -> Family Photo & Friend Circle Photo
    -> Imagination Art
    -> Lovable or Remember-able pic
    -> Graphics
    -> Abstract art

    Definitely do what you're comfortable doing. Glad to hear you're open to learning Illustrator - many people wouldn't be open-minded like that.

    Photoshop is ok to use for that function but it would be better if you use illustrator as it is specifically created for creating as Photoshop is for editing. If you are more familiar with Photoshop, go right ahead as it is more than capable to create a cover design.

    Technically you can use Photoshop and Illustrator to do that but It would be easier to use Adobe InDesign. InDesign is a program for making magazines or books.
