Hi, Does anyone know the delete grace period at name dot com? I called and was told by someone who seemed to be being coached by a supervisor that they had a ten day grace delete period, but only for mis-spellings. Anyone know of any other way to take advantage of their grace period to dump a poorly thought out domain name?
Stop spamming everybody's thread with your crappy names. Nobody's interested in those crap worthless names. If you have names for sale, put it in the BST forum.
Check it out at name.com/policies/registration-agreement They say "At the end of the Hold Period we may, in our sole discretion, delete the domain name or transfer it to a third party. We reserve the right to make any domain name that has gone through the twenty-five (25) day Expiration Period available for registration to a third party. If we delete the domain name, it may become subject to its Registry’s ‘Redemption Grace Period’ during which the domain name may be recovered by Name.com and returned to you. If you decide to recover a domain name during this period, you agree to pay a charge of $120.00 USD (“Redemption Feeâ€), to cover the fee incurred from the Registry as well as administrative costs associated with recovery. The Redemption Fee is in addition to the applicable registration renewal fee and any other past-due fees. At the end of many Registry Redemption Grace Periods, there may be a period during which expiring domain names are in "Pending Delete†status at the Registry. We cannot recover domain names in Pending Delete status. At the end of the Pending Delete status period, a domain name is made available for registration by the general public on a first-come, first-serve, basis. Some Registries do not offer Redemption Grace Periods, and so deleted domain names promptly become available for registration by anyone, on a first-come, first-serve, basis."
according the TOS they will not give any refunds even if you ask to delete the names. there is no 10 days grace period you can try with some registrars like dynadot etc for tasting but its not always guaranteed to give refunds as registrars have some limits on deletions.
We're listening. If you contact us within a few days of purchasing a misspelled domain we'll go ahead and delete it for you, but this is strictly for misspellings. We can't do much for poorly thought out names. Cheers, Lesley Yarbrough Community Manager Name.com
