Can i copy Terms of Service?

    My title explains it, if my site works "under" another site, can i copy their TOS and modify it with my sites name and tweek it a little bit to match my site?

    I have never heard of this before, but if you literally copied it would it fit with your site? Also, you would most likely have to ask the site that you are copying it from and see what they say.

    Yes it would fit bcz both sites are of same niche :) We will modify it according to our site tho...

    Yes you can copy. Just make sure you make some few changes to fit to your site. Nobody reads them anyways

    Well, serious people do read them...I read every site's TOS which i use...

    I personally read the TOS of other websites related to mine and then wrote my own TOS.

    You can't take anything from another site without permission, and that includes a TOS. Changing a few words or "tweaking it" makes it a derivative copy, which is still subject to an infringement claim.

    Thanks for all the help. I contacted them for permission and they said thats its no problem, its actually good as my clients can also follow the same conditions :)

    cant hurt to check w/ site you are copying from if you know them, but I think you'l be fine either way if you make a change or 2.
