can i change the name of the folder wordpress is intalled in?

    I installed wordpress into domain.com/blog/ but I want to change it to domain.com/somethingelse/

    can I simply rename the folder through ftp? or is it already hardcoded through the database etc??

    Easy,

    1) Change the URL in your Admin > Options
    2) Then change the folder with FTP.

    :)

    If any of your pages were indexed you might want to throw up a 301 redirect to the new location

    I'm sure that's easy, but I've never done it.
    In cPanel would you use a wildcard (*) to cover all the URL's?


    /Of coarse I know how to do a simple re-direct.
