Can I buy something with the my own Affiliate link?

    I want to buy something on abebooks.com and i am doing CJ as well.
    You know,abebooks.com is a advertiser on CJ and i put its ads on my site.
    So I want to know if it's allowed to buy some books by click its ads on my site. I could get a Commission if it's allowed :D
    Anyone tried this?
    Some advice?

    It depends on merchant to merchant. Some merchant do not allow affiliates to buy product using affiliate link.

    if the commision is much less then the price of the product then you shouldent have a problem.... sometimes the commision is higher than what you actually pay for the product (hosting/poker sites) in those cases, its ussually forbidden or ristricted to one purchase...

    Hello,

    As an Advertising company, we do not allow commissions on self-purchase as the purpose of the Affiliate program is not to provide discounts to our affiliates, but to pay them for advertising our products.

    I'm sure every company has different rules for how they go about their business. But if you do not receive a commission for a self purchase, then you can't say you haven't been warned. :) Good luck.

    I would put it this way.

    Dont sign up to just get a discount. But if you have been advertising and earning commissions on a product for some time, I doubt anyone would care.
