yer.. dont lol you need 5 sales and 1 being through mastercard till you can even get the money so if your thinking of getting it discounted... dont :)

HOWEVER, once you build your website and a few articles selling that product send an email to the owner asking for a review copy with reference to your sites/articles, I made one affiliate $200 befor i asked so i knew he wouldnt say no lol, got the book, rewrote my review and now im on more sales :) but prove your actually an affiliate that wants to sell their product will always help your case.

Sure, but you have to meet the guidelines for your first paycheck.

Don't do it for the sake of your first paycheck.
There is no strict rule to govern the self sales, but avoiding them is better.

Herwith the quote form clickbank acoounting policy :

ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:

Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.

This requirement is in place to help prevent Affiliates from abusing the ClickBank Affiliate program by using their accounts for the sole purpose of fraudulently collecting rebates and/or discounts on their own purchases.

From above statement, it is mentioned that basically, clickbank does not allowed affiliate using their account for collecting rebates or discount only, although some user can be tricky by using 5 different credit cards.

However, in my opinion, I prefer to avoid it even if I have many credit cards.

Actually, I think they're trying to block off the kind of smarties who just who just sign up for an affiliate account for the sole purpose of getting discounts rather than making sales. I'm also new to CB, but I don't supposed they'll get angry if a proficient affiliate buys a product through his own hoplink... after all, a sale is a sale, right? clickbank earns their share, the author earns his share, and the affiliate gets his share back as a discount = all around happiness!

First off. pretty much everyone here is correct on one thing. YES, buy the product but you do have to meet certain guidlines go get your first check but if you are going to promote the product, who cares.

Secondly, the FDT may be cracking down on affiliate who promote products they never owned or used. So when i promote a product, I either buy it or ask the vendor for a free copy. If you have good stading with Clickbank they almost always give you a "sample course"...not the whole thing (they might sometimes???)

This way, if i ever get audited by the FTC for unfair business practice, i have a copy of the ebook or product at my home or on my computer.....they can do nothing then since i made an honest review of the product.

One more thing, I did buy about 7 products through my own hoplink. It is not illegal to do. I also returned 2 of them becuase they were crap...I had no effects on my account what-so-ever.

I read in some blogs and forum, if we returned clickbank product frequently, our account will be banned... I don't know how many times exactly in "frequently terms"..

I doubt clickbank would ban an account unless its clear you are abusing the refund system to get free products.

I do it all the time if I want to review a product, did it with a few fittness products, you can right much better honest reviews. Sometimes its worth emailing the vendor to see if they will send you a free copy, you will find suprisingly a lot will do this if they know you plan to promote their product :).

    Lets put this simply...
    No!

    Here's the blackhat way...

Get a friend to sign under clickbank...

Get him to send you some of his commissions...

    BAM!

%50 off any time you want...

If you can pull it off.

    Cheers.
