    Hi there

Can I bribe a DMOZ editor for add a site, a qualified site? Where can I find the editor and talk directly?

you will never known who is the editor of DMOZ and it's hard to contact him directly. DMOZ will find you out and your site will be banned, that editor will be kicked out and runaway with your money. it's not worth it at all. just do it a normal way.

    tradeya is right...
Now, if another webmaster ever gets angry they can point to this thread and get any or all of your sites that have been listed investigated.

Though, if you have no sites listed, don't worry about it. Just submit them and the wait time will likely be the same as getting them banned, lol.

How will they find out if it stays mutual (between you and the editor). Does Dmoz have psychics working for them? You can bet this stuff goes on all the time get real!

The normal situation is that a site owner makes the offer to an editor and it is reported and otherwise documented, and the site banned. Such an illicit approach is doomed to fail as vast majority of editors report these attempts at bribery.

A follower of Crowley asking if the ODP uses paranormal methods for such things is kind of funny...

They do have several categories for such endeavours, and most of those categories are updated rather regularly. Many editors also mention using crystal balls and the like, so maybe they do use such things ;)

nebuchadrezzar is correct, MOST editors do report such things, so it's generally not worth the risk.

Sure but a site owner would not want to give their site details unless the editor agreed in the first place. Since a dmoz link is considered pretty valuable seo wise I would think there are many a site owner willing to pay a considerable sum. Would all dmoz editors be able to resist this? I think not.

I agree. To say that every editor is honest, and that none would be amenable to bribery would be illogical. But I think many more of these bribe attempts fail than succeed.

This is a public forum. Aren't you even a little ashamed of trying to bribe someone right here?

it is really hard to be an editor, also what is the category you want, it is the most important thing. Choose a small category to first join. they have a forum, for editors but it does not works to talk.

I would say that attempting to bribe an editor will net the same results as actually bribing the editor. Three have offered me bribes and three are now banned from the Directory. :D

Bank robbery and attempted bank robbery are both crimes.
