    Hey

So the content and the content creation (worst offender) forums are full of constant spam. I'm sick of reading it tbh and yeah I spend most of my days on there - work full time and its my place for fun . Anyone want to give me deleting privelleges so that I can just remove it all rather than reporting hundreds of posts every day... you can give me banning privelleges too if you like so I can stop it from happening? :p It's so irritating... every two posts it's "Dear Sir. I PM you." I mean c'mon

    Wes

So you joined this month specially to be a mod.

Well, mods pay $1000/month to DP.

And security deposit is like $50000.

    Wow! No way :p

Maybe I'll just stick to my sarcastic comments and pressing the 'report button' then. I may spontaneously combust before long though... seriously!

    Sure, why not!

While we're at it, why don't we make all members who joined this month Moderators, as a special Easter treat! You're not the only one who reports a lot of posts mate... I must've reported over 500 since I became a member.

If you do become a mod, lets hope you're smarter than the guy that gave me an infraction for having a couple of posts that he thought wasn't long enough or weren't substantive enough. I vented about it here:
    forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2159125#post16129617

There was no reply, nor have they removed the infraction.

Lol I was actually joking - there is no reason why I would ever be allowed such a high standing place on these boards. I am going to keep pressing the report post button though until half of these dimwits are banned - I've only been here for a few weeks and even I know a bit about forum etiquette. Let the sarcastic posts and the 'report post' pressing commence

I just had fun going through your posts and reporting some. :) Maybe you should actually read the rules and the FAQ... Posts such as "PM sent", "lol thats funny dude" etc aren't allowed and are considered spam.

Reporting threads and pm-ing mods really help. I mean, I have reported and have had 5-6 members banned during the last 2-3 months. It's quite fun when you see threads removed/merged/spammers getting banned .. It's like my report was actually been taken care of

long live the mods ( just a couple of em)

Not really. If you didn't break the rules, I wouldn't have reported your posts. But, unfortunately for you, you didn't read/didn't think that the DP Rules and Regulations and the FAQ's apply to you. That's a shame. Enjoy your newly-founded infraction points, maybe it'll teach you a lesson. :)

You've got me mixed up with someone else. I never posted that.

You're not intimidating or embarrassing anyone so I'm not sure what motivates you to be so mean-spirited. I highly advise being nicer to people and showing them more respect. This would reflect on you better and not reveal your insecurities.

I saw your post venting about the infraction, and was tempted to reply. I decided not to because it's a writer's sales thread, and I didn't want to hijack it further. Just to clarify, I did not report your post, nor would I have any interest in doing so. By and large, the only posts that I would usually report are ones that are duplicate id's or intimidating, mean, scary posts -- it's hard for me to relate to people who would spend hours reporting posts they feel have no substance. That's just me. But, anyway...I'll just give you my advice for what it's worth. First of all, I can tell by the tone in your post that you took this personally. Please don't feel like that. The vast majority of us have had infractions at one point or another, it's definitely not personal. I've had infractions. Most of the times I've had, I understand why. A few times, I didn't think I deserved it, but I figure, that makes up for the times when perhaps I did deserve one, but didn't get one. :)

Here's what I would recommend -- be careful when posting in the entire buy, sell, and trade sections. If you're going to get an infraction, that's probably the easiest place to get one. If you say something in a sales thread unrelated to buying what the seller is selling, you may be subject to an infraction (irregardless of the length of your post). If you would have said "So true. Great post! And we must feed our minds with positive, nutritional mental food as well." in general chat, very unlikely you would have gotten an infraction. Another thing I wanted to address, you said -- "And one more thing: There are thousands of posts on this site with simple comments like, "nice site congratulations..." (I just read that one). Why am I being singled out?" You're not. Other people are getting infractions all the time, it's just they don't normally talk about it.

When you're new, it takes awhile to figure out the norms for a particular forum. Just consider infractions as a reminder, try to learn from it, but don't let it get to you. Anyway, welcome to Digital Point.

You're very nice Rebecca and very diplomatic. Others here can learn from your diplomacy.

I appreciate your comments. I contribute at several forums and have never received an infraction before so I was rather surprised by this, especially when I see gobs of spam all around me that doesn't seem to get removed. Either way, it's no big deal. It was more one particular "jerk" in here that I had a problem with. He knows who he is. I really get tired of these insecure people that delight in putting down others to try and make themselves look good.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'll walk lightly for awhile and do my best not to cross any of these fine lines. Thanks again and I appreciate the welcome!
